Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using SSLGuard ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service

SSLGuard provides automated SSL/TLS certificate monitoring and alerting services. The Service allows you to:

• Monitor SSL/TLS certificates for domains you own or manage
• Receive alerts before certificates expire
• Track certificate history and changes
• Manage multiple domains from a single dashboard

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• Maintain and update your account information
• Keep your password secure and confidential
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

You may not use another person's account without permission. You are responsible for notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:

• Monitor domains you do not own or have authorization to monitor
• Use the Service to perform security testing without proper authorization
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Use automated systems to access the Service except as permitted by us
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Transmit any malicious code or malware
• Impersonate any person or entity

5. Plans and Billing

5.1 Free Tier

The Free tier allows monitoring of up to 3 domains with basic features. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Free tier at any time with reasonable notice.

5.2 Paid Plans

Paid plans (Pro and Team) are billed monthly via Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to:

• Pay all fees associated with your selected plan
• Provide current, complete, and accurate billing information
• Authorize automatic monthly charges to your payment method

5.3 Refunds

All fees are non-refundable except where required by law. If you cancel your subscription, you will continue to have access to paid features until the end of your current billing period.

5.4 Plan Changes

You may upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing period.

5.5 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change our pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period.

6. Service Availability and Limitations

6.1 Service Availability

While we strive to provide reliable service, we do not guarantee:

• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• That the Service will meet your specific requirements
• That all certificate checks will complete successfully
• That alerts will be delivered within a specific timeframe

6.2 Maintenance

We may perform scheduled maintenance that temporarily interrupts service. We will provide reasonable notice for planned maintenance when possible.

6.3 Check Frequency

Certificate checks are performed automatically at regular intervals (typically once per hour). Check frequency may vary based on server load and plan tier.

7. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to our collection and use of your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

You retain all rights to your domain names and certificate data. We claim no ownership over any data you provide to the Service.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by SSLGuard and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Service without our express written permission.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY
• FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
• NON-INFRINGEMENT
• ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR COMPLETENESS OF INFORMATION

SSLGuard is a monitoring tool only. We are not responsible for renewing your SSL certificates or preventing certificate expiry. You remain solely responsible for maintaining valid SSL certificates for your domains.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SSLGuard SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM:

• Your use or inability to use the Service
• Expired SSL certificates that were not detected or alerted
• Missed or delayed alerts
• Unauthorized access to your account
• Errors, mistakes, or inaccuracies in the Service
• Any interruption or cessation of the Service

In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, or $100, whichever is less.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SSLGuard and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Any domains you monitor without proper authorization

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including:

• Violation of these Terms
• Failure to pay applicable fees
• At your request
• For any other reason at our sole discretion

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the courts of the United States.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Service or by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
